Modeling Electric Vehicle Charging Demand with the Effect of Increasing EVSEs: A Discrete Event Simulation-Based Model

چکیده
Electric vehicle (EV) use is growing at a steady rate globally. Many countries are planning to ban internal combustion engines by 2030. One of the key issues needed be addressed before full-scale deployment EVs ensuring energy security. Various studies have developed models simulate and study hourly electricity demand from EV charging. In this study, we present an improved model based on discrete event simulation, which allows for modeling characteristics individual users, including availability electric supply equipment (EVSE) outside homes charging threshold each user. The illustrated simulating 1000 random vehicles generated using data actual survey. results agree with previous that daily demands do not significantly vary. However, show significant shift in schedule during weekends. Moreover, simulation demonstrated peak can reduced as much 11% if EVSEs made more available homes. Interestingly, behavioral solution, such requiring users fully utilize their EV’s battery capacity, effective reducing (14–17%). Finally, concludes discussing few potential implications policy.

Since the electrification of individual traffic may cause a critical load to power grids, methods have to be investigated that are capable of handling its highly stochastic behaviour. From a power grid’s point of view, forecasting applications are needed for computing optimal power generation schedules that satisfy end-user’s energy needs while considering installed capacities in the grid. In t...

The rapid penetration of electric vehicles may lead to peak problems in a traditional grid so that some of the smart grid research is focused on charging strategies for electric vehicles. The charging problem is suitable for using a queue structure, and fuzzy queueing can be implemented for this purpose. This paper presents a fuzzy queueing based model, which can also control the power demand o...
